Full Membership Eligibility criteria:
- Are Not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 or equivalent status; a government agency or an affiliate program or department of higher education
- Provide artists in education services to students and/or teachers in NJ schools or community.
- Have been providing those programs for a minimum of two years.
Benefits/Responsibilities:
- Voting rights, one vote per organization
- Attendance at quarterly meetings
- Governing Board eligibility (once established)
- Serve as committee chair or co-chair
- Serve on 1-2 committees
- Access to statewide professional development offerings for teaching artists and administrators
- Access to year round networking opportunities
- Promotion on Collective website, link to organization's website
- E-Notification of all Collective events and free or reduced rate tickets to cultural events
- One free registration to one Collective event
- Priority registration to all Collective events
- Eligibility for annual awards/recognition

Associate Membership Eligibility criteria:
- Any organization that wishes to join but does not meet the above definition for full membership
- Any organization that wishes to join and desires associate membership over full membership for any reason

- Serve on 1-2 committees
- Access to year round networking opportunities
- Reduced registration for one Collective event
- E-Notification of all collective events
- Priority registration to all Collective events

Friends of the Collective Eligibility criteria:
Individuals who wish to affiliate with the Collective including, but not limited to: Teaching artists (non-affiliated), teachers, pre-service teachers, students, administrators and arts education consultants
Benefits:

- Serve on 1-2 committees
- Access to year round networking opportunities
- Reduced registration for one Collective event
- E-Notification of all Collective events

Annual Dues Collection:
Treasurer will invoice all existing members of the Collective by September 1 of current fiscal year; existing members must notify Treasurer as to organization's membership status and dues tier (if applicable) by above named date. All membership dues are to be received no later than November 1 of the current fiscal year.
Voting:
The Collective will make its decisions on a consensus basis. If consensus cannot be reached within the time predetermined by the meeting's agenda, the decision will be made by majority vote. Majority vote is defined as 51% of member organizations. Voting can be done by conference call or by proxy through the Collective secretary. Each member organization will have 1 vote. Collective members shall follow Robert's Rules of Order to openly discuss all business at quarterly meetings (see Attachment A for Motions Chart). Roberts Rules can be suspended to allow for further discussion of an issue / topic.
